The EcoCocon straw panel construction system delivers sustainable and healthy living and exceptional energy efficiency.
Exterior Layers
Exterior insulated wood fiberboard helps achieve a Passive House Standard.
Buildings can then be plastered or covered with a ventilated facade. An airtight diffusion-open membrane prevents heat loss and ensures humidity transfer. It also serves as a weather-protection during construction.
The Panel
The timber-straw wall panel is made with multidirectional press technology and is a double load-bearing structure made of FSC-certified wood. The panels are made in 1 mm increments to adapt to any building design. Panel types include braced panels, lintels, sills, and inclined gable wall elements.
The standard thickness is 15 3/4" inches.
Interior Layers
The system is completed with an interior clay plaster. Thanks to its hygroscopic properties, it acts as an effective humidity regulation system. It has an entirely natural finish without VOCs, low embodied energy, and high thermal mass. A variety of standard interior finishes is also available.
