The EcoCocon panel
EcoCocon is the only building component with Passive House and Cradle-to-Cradle certifications. This system makes the most of renewable materials. It was created to have a minimal ecological footprint and can be safely composted to nature after use. In a typical house built with EcoCocon panels, an external wall area of 1400 square feet sequesters more than 12 tons of Co2.
The EcoCocon wall system provides superior indoor air quality and thermal and acoustic comfort. Creating a healthy microclimate with consistent temperatures keeps buildings warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The EcoCocon straw panel is built to suit the cold climate of Alaska, the hot and humid temperatures in Florida, or the dry climates out West. EcoCocon straw panels are created from nature and designed to handle the nature all around us.

The general square foot price for a straw panel system building starts at $300 to $350 per square foot for a finished home. The price varies depending on the area and client preferences.

Once we have a finished design including architectural and engineering plans, the straw panel manufacturing and delivery, can take between 4 to 6 months.

The straw panels are currently produced and shipped from a factory in Lithuania. We hope to generate enough interest here in the United States to build a production line in 2025 or 2026.

If you can dream it, we can design it. We offer complete design services using the EcoCocon wall system as the core of our design. In addition to being sustainable and non-toxic they provide maximum indoor comfort and energy efficiency.

If you can draw it, we can make it sustainable. If you’re an architect, and would like to see straw panels incorporated into your design project, please send your drawing and we would be happy to assist with an estimate.
You have the freedom to design and we will help integrate the panels. Together we can design healthy and sustainable structures that achieve passive house certification.

Our newly designed kit homes will be available to view and purchase in 2024. The package will include the structural design plans, engineering approval, and a materials list for the shell of the structure.
